Entschuldigen sie

Today I went to the store with Patience.
Chocolate was on sale, so I bought four Milka bars.
Then I was going to buy cookies but I had to walk by the Austrian worker, so I politely did my best to say “excuse me” in German.
She stopped me, made me follow her, and lead me to a different worker.
Apparently she thought I was going to ask a question and so she lead me to someone who understood English better. They clarified that I had said the words correctly, it was simply that the first worker thought I actually wanted help.
In the end, I bought 4 milka bars that were on sale and called it a day.
